  • Harmonic Balancer Differences.

I have been told that in 97, the 3.8s got a different (better) harmonic balancer.
Could someone post a pic of either one, and state the year.
I am try to sort out which is which.
    Thanks

98+ got the new style, with the exception that 97 M5s also got it.

Don't have a good pic of mine, but it's definitely different that that.

So the newer one is much smaller I take it?
      I have a 97 M5 and I have a much smaller one.
Why is the newer one considered better?

Here is a photo of the 98+ harmonic balancer. The size as far as diameter is the same. I used my stock 98 balancer on my 96 long block with no problems.
