The L67 rods will not work w/ L36 pistons. I'm 99% sure that is what the dude/dudet that relied meant. So if you buy these rods you'd need L67 pistons too.Keith - 99 'maro - White M5 - bumpstick and boltons - 13.65 @ 101 N/A

The L32 has hot-forged "powdered metal" connecting rods, also the L67 in the 2004 Impala/Monte Carlo may have these too from what iv been reading. There may have to be some machining involved to safely avoid problems if you do not have a stock setup.

pardon my ignorance, but what engine is the L32?
Also, say you had a stock, N/A 3.8 in an fcar, and you wanted to reinforce it a bit in preperationg for putting on a powerdyne supercharger. Do the L32 rods require any modification to fit in our engines as replacements for factory rods, or can you even put them in without a supercharger, and run the engine as normal? Im thinking if i have to rebuild my engine before i have the cash to buy a supercharger, i might be better off with the L32 rods.
They do look better, and the design of the cavity in the middle appears to be better suited to prevent premature failure.Property of Dave Hamburger

The new L32 is the name for the "Series III 3800"
The old L32 was the 3.4L2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

I have a set of Intense 9.5:1 pistons which I was going to install pretty soon, so which rods are going to work with my set up. Intense says to use L67 rods with their pistons. Yup, they are the same. I'd use the Clevite 77 line main and rod bearings, those are also available from INTENSE.

This is great info, thanks for posting it. I just tried the link to clubgp, I guess it's down right now.
Do you have any photos or more info on what needs to be clearanced for these rods to work in a Series II motor? I need to start getting my parts list together, don't think my stock bottom end will like this new Procharger unit for very long. :D

No problem just glad to help, let me see if i can dig up the pic for you. The piston end will need to be clearanced ever so slightly on the top radius if using forged pistons, nothing 12 seconds and a grinder cant fix.

Are they forged around the piston and crank?? The rest of the Rod looks cast Iron..Jeff ..
