Im in the process of making a decision about what cam and rocker ratio to use in my car. I see a cam from Abbott that uses 1.6 and it matches the heads and intakes they have. I see a lot of people going to G2 cams. People with 1.9 and 1.8 rockers. Where can I get a G2 cam? Do they last for everyday drivers? I drive about 350 miles a week. I don't mind gass prices. Im trying to make the car more agressive without supercharging it. My goal is 1.5 hp per cubic inch. I don't expect to get there overnight, but for now I'd like a little more power. What's the highest compression ratio for the 3.8? I know stok was like 9.4:1.

I'm not sure about the compression, but I know you can get the GT2 cam from www.zzperformance.com1998 M5 3.8 Mystic Teal Camaro
Flowmaster exhaust, Pacesetter headers, 3\" cat, 3\" S-pipe, whisper lid, ram air, Spec Stage 1 clutch, Poly Trans mount, Walbro 255LPH. Intake Lift .317" (.507" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio )
Exhaust Lift .317" (.507" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)
1.9 rockers and stock cam is about .490 i think. don't do 1.9 rockers and high lift cam. just one or the other. no reason to do that. get the cam you want with the lobe and lift you desire. no reason to add specialty rockers on top of a cam.
maybe some of the more advanced cam gurus will chime it but there are limitations on lift before valve guides get in the way and stuff like that.

try and put together a package of stronger valve springs and pushrods along with the cam. leave time and money for tuning as well.

Anything over .500" lift on stock heads is pointless anyways, and just harder on the valvetrain.1997 Chevrolet Camaro v6 - 13.8@104MPH

I don't think you will be able to hit your goal with out forced induction or n2o. I could probaly be done but it would be cheaper to go boost or n20. Your goal right now is 346.5 231 x 1.5 .2005 Cavalier LS Sport M5
http://members.cardomain.com/firefighter8615

I guess I need to read the debates in the FID section about Turbo vs Super. I'm leaning towards the SC, but Im going to read more to support my opinion.
