  • HP Tuners tuning suggestions?

    i got HP Tuners basically just to recalibrate the PCM for the gear ratio change and change in injector size...but what would be some other good modifications to make to the PCM to get the most power out of it...i'd like to be able to just flash it one way because i dont have a lap top to be able to quickly change it back...the motor is just stock, NA, daily driven...im running high dry shots of nitrous at the track...so i guess im looking for some really good NA tuning that i will also see some benefits with while spraying (timing..aif/fuel mixture..etc)...any suggestions?     Well You're not going to have the best of N/A and Sprayed unless you run a dual setup.

    Timing advanced until you see knock then back it off a few * for N/A and that is a big NO for Nitrous.

    spraying a 100 dry shot MAYBE retard timing 2* make a test run if you see knock, which I doubt, retard it a little more.

    A/F You can usually lean it out a bit for N/A to pick up some more HP, but again the opposite for Nitrous. You want to make sure you have plenty of fuel when spraying.


    These are general concepts not exactly what to do obviously. Air/Fuel and timing go hand in hand if you adjust your A/F mixture and lean it out for example and had already advanced timing you may be more likely to see knock. It just takes a lot of testing, monitoring, and patience.

      hmmmm....so do you think it would be best to just leave it as is for NA? ..maybe just change the total timing a little for nitrous use?...i really gotta get a lap top and save an NA file and a spray file...then just switch em at the track

        it doesnt take much processing power to run the HPTuners. Watch Ebay for a used laptop and run 2 tunes.

            Yes for now I would probably leave it alone and run &lt;100 shot until you can get a laptop and dual tunes!
