Well my mechanic fixed the top end of the engine (rockers). He said he started it up and ran it and no knocking problems but he did say he heard a noise coming from the bottom end of the engine.
So now he has to pull the engine and take it apart and fix the the problem. He says once he takes the engine apart he will find the problem quickly. It was a bad vaccum leak that cause the problem and made my engine run very lean which caused the oil gauge to go down.

this link is a picture of my STOCK cam at the top.. you can see the cam position tab there behind the front . The BOTTOM cam is the powermax 2030. As you can see its got no cam sensor tab on it. That first lobe behind the front-most bearing appears to be the fuel pump drive for a mech. fuel pump setup. But no little tab for the cam sensor. Basically I hink im screwed.
I actually called you this morning josh. I was the one wanting to know if i could order a cam on a credit card over the phone. I think i am going to send the 2030 back to summit, then buy that custom Lunati grind that you are running in your car. Ive already got the 1.6 RR's.
in conclusion, DO NOT buy the crane powermax 2030 cam. It aint gonna work for us 3.4L guys. Go with something off of Josh's website, all of the cams he sells ( i think?) have the cam position sensor.

you can get the 2030, just call them up & have them weld/affix the the tang for the sensor. don't know how muchit costs though. They might end up giving you a regrind though.

its always been known the 2030 doesn't have a cam position sensor tab. My solid cam didn't either, thats one of the reasons I didn't install it. Ive tried to think of ways to attach a tab to it though lol.

heres a pic f the 2 cams.. stock is on top.. new one is the bottom. as you can see, way different.
I know my production number by looking at my VIN number. The last 6 numbers are your production number. For example mine is 99, XXX therefore my car is number 90K,XXX produced that year. i believe only 120K were produced in 1994. Just look at the last 5 digits of your vin number... that will tell you your prod. number..

My powermax 2030 cam works just fine in my car. I have had no problems for the first 89 miles. The only problem I have is probly something on the bottom end of the engine . Probly a piston or something.
