  • How big of an injector can the 3.8's take?

How much bigger can I go with the Injector's on the 3.8's and what needs to be done to compensate for the bigger injectors?

I don't see any mods where you would need bigger injectors

Its a conversion project I am working on that now has my stock injectors shutting down

      19.0 at 4200RPM
      20.6 at 4400RPM

Fuel pressure is fine.....The engine is just wanting more fuel that the stock injectors cannot provide.

Come on everyone. I need input.... I need to do whatever is needed ASAP.

        I'm running Accel 24's with a maft.

Reprogramming would probably be needed in order to go higher.

You might be able to get by with the combination of an LT1 maf sensor and a maft.

I still need to install mine and see where it brings my pulse widths, and how stable my maf readings are at idle and part-throttle.

I have the MAF and MAFT part taking care of...part of the conversion project. I have access to LT1 Injectors ....any PCM issues I should be aware of?

Did the PCM have any problems with the bigger injectors?

I hate to butt in, but I am curious. Our injectors are controlled by AC current from the computer, right?

Without the maft, I would have been running much richer at idle.

As far as the pcm being able to drive the bigger injectors, it was fine with that. As long as the impedance is the same (high or low), then they should be fine.

Impedance wise, you will be ok until at least 42lbs. I can't remember if 50lbers have the same impedance, I think they do.

So I guess I will have to be on a wideband to make sure the A/F Ratio is right across the board.....I will get this done within the week and let everyone know what happened.....
