I am determined to put the 3.8 supercharged engine into my car. It is impossible to put it in now thanks to the damn throttle body design. So here is my idea. The F-body and S-10 share the same chassis. Is it possible to run the the 4wd setup so I can put the motor in sideways? I don't any flaming please. I want some advice from some do it yourselfers on this site. If it is possible, then I think this idea would perfect.

Either what your asking makes absolutely no sense or you completley lost me.
You want to swap a f-body onto an S-10 frame with the L67 motor and tranny to somehow only power the front wheels?
I think you need to take a look at how 4WD, FWD and RWD setups work.
Whatever your dreaming up would be WAY more expensive than rebuilding your engine with forged internals and a turbo/ supercharger kit, and be less effective.\'01 Mineral Grey SVT Cobra
-former F-body owner

First, the f body and s-10 chassis arn't even close to the same (a s-10 shares its front suspension with a/g bodies however)
2nd the motor dosn't sit sidways in a 4wd s-10..
If you fab an aluminum elbow so the tb sits alongside the engine (like a holden l67) it will work,I have a picture of this on my computer,Unfortanitly I don't have the net on my comp. right knowWolf
95 black t-top camaro,3.4 5 speed,ud pullies,plugs/wires,de-shaft tb & gutted airbox, homemaid short throw shifter

I mean the chassis are the same the difference is that the fbody is rear wheel drive. I wanted to know if you can swap the 4wd system into the camaro FROM an S-10 so that you can have four wheel drive. Or a better example is maybe a 3000gt Vr4. Motor sideways and is all wheel drive. Can I use a blown 3.8 and run the all an all wheel drive system. (so a transfer case to the rear wheels and two driveshafts97 Camaro RS

\"Just a V6 huh?, let\'s go find out how slow it is\"

Sideways motor and four wheel drive. That car uses a transfer case to the back wheels and obviously the tranny is on the bottom of the engine to power the front wheels. I know that the motor is not sideways on an S-10. That isn't what I meant.97 Camaro RS

\"Just a V6 huh?, let\'s go find out how slow it is\"

i have no idea...but a 4wd camaro would be INSANE...my buddy has an eclipse gsx with some aftermarket turbo stuff...the launches are SWEET 12 SECOND DUAL STAGE DRY NITROUS POWERED 98 A4 V6 CAMARO
www.MySickCamaro.50megs.com
Best ET: 12.82@103
Best MPH: 104.7
Best 60\': 1.75 - Stock TC

quote:
Originally posted by Shodown:
1DV6 runs 12\'s...enough said.

I like the pics Wolf, but I don't think you are getting my idea. I asked if you can put the l67 in SIDEWYAYS, and run a gm 4 wheel drive system. I think there are enough parts in the GM bin to interchange without having to hack up the car.97 Camaro RS

\"Just a V6 huh?, let\'s go find out how slow it is\"

I was just showing you a methoid to use the l67 with your current drivetrainWolf
95 black t-top camaro,3.4 5 speed,ud pullies,plugs/wires,de-shaft tb & gutted airbox, homemaid short throw shifter

you are way out of your league. accept the fact that you have rear wheel drive. there is no way to do a transfer case that i can think of and that would be a much better idea than doing what you are thinking. the car was not built for what you are wanting to do. Go get a WRX if you want awd, you would spend less money. hate to sound like a dick but those are the facts.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard

with enugh mony you can rebody/reframe anything

It looks simple but what about motor mounts and such. It seems to me that all someone would have to do is fabricate a 90 degree inlet tune for the back of the blower and run the throttle body and piping in front on the blower, instead of everything being in the back97 Camaro RS

\"Just a V6 huh?, let\'s go find out how slow it is\"

motor mounts i think are the exact same. the only problem is you cant use the stock m90 you must get the one from holden. after that i dont think there would be too much trouble. its not worth it though, there are so many better ways to go :cough: turbo, :cough:.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard

Why do you guys keep calling it 4WD? GTs and WRXs have ALL WHEEL DRIVE which is completely different than regular 4WD. Other than that ridiculus notion that you could mount the motor sideways in an f-body the problem with ground clearance would be your worst problem. If you look under any 4WD vehicle you'll see that the gears/transfer cases hang way down further than most other parts of the body. It just wouldn't work on our cars without jacking it up a ton. People that want this usually swap out entire frames and just modify the f-body body panels to fit. Search around and you'll find what I'm talking about.2002 Black Firebird:
A4, Y87, W68, T-tops
Best NA ET: 15.16 @ 90
http://members.cardomain.com/darksde02

Dark said exactly what i was going to say. And for one with a FWD 3.8 in your camaro where would you expect to hook up a driveline to run back to the transfer case? And 4wd isnt meant for racing. I dont think those tcase's hold up at high speeds. AWD setups are totally different. But 4WD is meant for getting you out of the mud and stuff. It would be stupid in my opinion. Even if you got it to work it would be alot of money. And alot of money that could have been invested into something else and have a better setup then a 4wd camaro. Thats just insane.

4WD and AWD are almost the same thing these days. Toyotas call it fulltime 4wd, most people would call it awd if it cant be turned off. They come in both transaxle and longitudinal engines.
Your best bet is to get the holden m90. The transaxle idea would be a crazy amount of engineering and work. It would all have to be custom made.92 S10 3800 A4(96)
1/4: 14.374 @ 92.25 w/ 1.976 60\'
Turbo and 12\'s Coming Soon!
