Thinking about an engine swap

hey,

I know probably the best engine to swap in my 96 Camaro, would be an LS1 or LT1, but given I am poor, what is the possiblity of putting in a small block out of a newer Chev Truck, like the 5.7, or even the newer 5.3, or 6.0.

Just looking for some input, I think I could easily get ahold of a truck engine pretty cheap, I even work with a guy that builds race engines, and such.

The 5.3 and 6.0L out of the trucks can be put in your car, they are LS1 based. You'll need the LS1 intake manifolds or headers, the LS1 throttle body, etc. But yes, people take the 6.0L out of the Avalanche and such all the time, modify a little, and drop it in the f-body.
