I am thinking about swapping a 3.8/5speed from a 2000 Camaro into a 1952 Chevy just to do something a little different. This car is about 500 lbs lighter than the F-body so I would think it would have plenty of power for cruising. My only concern is the electronics - is there a lot of issues with doing a swap like this or is it just a mattter of getting around the theft prevention(VATS). I've put a 95 LT1/4l60E in a Jaguar with no problems so I understand the basic stuff. The LT1 is a OBDI system but the 3.8 is an OBDII and I hear they can be more difficult. Anybody got experience they can share on this?

Last swap I did I tricked the VATS by using key resistor value plugged into a 3 position mini toggle switch. On position would read value as when correct key was in,other positions VATS was enabled.
Hide this somewhere and you have a complete system.
Worst one will be the speedo sensor but JTR can handle that.Get as much wiring off of donor car as you can.
