L36 & L67 block differences

I was curious to know if both blocks are identical? Meaning that they have both FWD and RWD engine mountig bosses.

The cylinder blocks are the same. The internals are different like pistons, rings, push rods, rods, crank and so forth. Check out www.projectvirus.com Stephan has it well documented.

Connecting Rods
Balance Shaft
Cam gear sprocket

Can't exactly verify it myself, but I think that the BLOCK is identical -- and that the differences are in everything (EVERYTHING) else. [img]smile.gif[/img]

I think that there is an oil recovery tube on the block of an L67 that is not on the block of an L36, to accomodate for the recovery hole that is on the cylinder heads of L67's and not L36's. I can't be absolutely sure about this, but I think that is it. Other than that, they are identical.

If it were me, I would use your stock block and heads etc (or at least the heads and everything) and just transfer over the l67 internals. That way the heads, intake and everything else will be the same.
