Thats like asking what wheels you should get.
My Advice: Go look over your other mods, go look into the expense, the time, and go look into how each cam variable affects the cam profile.
Then, come back with some cam ideas, and ask.
Otherwise, go with something already out there. Many different ones to choose from at this point.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

DOminic gave you the experienced motorhead answer: do research and select a cam based on what you have/want.
Here is the easy way out.
Go to zzperformance.com and get thier Comp GT cam. It requires no valvetrain mods, it works with the stock computer, and it doesn't have to be custom ground.
I was about to get a GT cam, then I learned how to use a computer engine simulator(desktop dyno). Now I am constantly switching around #'s trying to design the ultimate cam. I don't think I will ever get a cam now because I can't decide what to get.1999 red camaro v6 M5: with a turbo
13.52@107.99
No, seriously: Who Farted?
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/600086

Is it true that when you use the stock heads that anything over .500 starts to have adverse effects on performance. I was thinking about getting the GM 3800 PowerPak but I was wondering if it was worth it.IS THIS WHERE I\'M SUPPOSE TO BUILD MY INTERNET CAMARO THAT RUNS 10\'S TO LOW 11\'S ALL DAY LONG???

I have never heard of the power pack. COuld you provied a link?
If you use more than .510 lift, you start to break valve springs.
Look in the tech database. Most everyone with a cam uses more that .500 lift. THe majority of them have stock heads too. OUr heads flow really well.1999 red camaro v6 M5: with a turbo
13.52@107.99
No, seriously: Who Farted?
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/600086

Sandman I belive is refereing to super six motor sports power pak. It is a custom job with head work, porting, cam, etc.
I would sugest if you just want some extra kick and your not looking to do other modifications try using comp cams new 200/206 grind listed for our cars in their new 03 cataloge. It should be safe, effective, and give you an increase in power.
Now if you want all the power you can squeze out of your cam install, as Dominic said before you may want to do some research for what is right for you.
I hope that helps a bit. ;)Thanks,
JAM
02 Firebird GT

Does anyone know of a really good, easy to understand book about cams and designing cam profiles and stuff? I know it would help me, as well as many others, to learn how to determine things such as HP, power band, and what variables affect what and how. I'd really like to learn how to apply cam specs to our car and would like some knowledge in the subject. All I really know is what the numbers do, not how they actually affect things, and I only base my opinion on what I've seen others choose. I'd like the knowledge to choose myself. So has anyone ever read a good cam book??AIM: Alientr8tr
1998 Camaro 3.8L
Flowmaster 80-series, !FRA, Eibach Springs, KYB AGX, SLP sway bars, 3.42/LSD, Wings West kit, Z06 Motorsports, Silverstone Metallic paint
Shift 5 - My Band

I have that cam right now. It doesn't put out as much power as I would like. Thanks for the link, it is definately a good read. I'm bookmarking it to come back on as a reference guide. I dont I can design a cam for our cars based off that, but at least it helps me to understand better what each part/number of a cam profile affects. I guess I could just start punching stock numbers in desktop dyno now to see where to start with our engines, than build from there. That probably wouldn't be a bad link to throw in the modifications encyclopedia, or something similar to that since people are starting to do cams a lot more often now. Thanks againAIM: Alientr8tr
1998 Camaro 3.8L
Flowmaster 80-series, !FRA, Eibach Springs, KYB AGX, SLP sway bars, 3.42/LSD, Wings West kit, Z06 Motorsports, Silverstone Metallic paint
Shift 5 - My Band

What is the limit of lift you can go before you have to change the springs.
