Bird_Of_Prey...are these the gear wrenches you are refering to?
http://www.arizonatools.com/catalog/...4/detail/4455/

I am sure that must be it. I don't own any ratcheting box wrenches...always pricey...worry they will break. It was next on my list if I had not thought of bending the bracket.

Thanks for the tip.

Check out harbor frieght. They have a couple small sets of ratcheting box wrenches for like 8-20 bucks (depending on the set) http://order.harborfreight.com/EasyA...ht/results.jsp . they wont last forever but will be fine for a few years.

thanks for the gear wrench link T-Punk. I didn't realize those ratchet box ends were knonw as gear wrenches. never bought any. cheap ones look cheap...nice ones are expensive. Maybe some big christmas tips this year will be good for my toolbox.

1Dangerous...I have no idea. My car may very well have 6psi powerdyne on it before I ever go to the track this spring. I don't even have good aftermarket exhaust yet...but the car is faster...sportier...better than when I bought it and it was all stock.
You can bet on it that when the car is modded to my intended specs...(6 psi, 3 inch cat to tail, HP tuners) we will all know how fast it is in the 1/4.

Valve Spring Update:
Having experienced valve float at appx. 5600 rpm I finally installed some LS6 springs. They work like a charm. No Float. Wouldn't do the high ratio rockers with anything other than newer, stiffer springs such as the 90 pound LS6's.

Install time: WELL, using an air compressor and an air hold fitting does make the job easier in that you do not have to pull the heads off to change the springs. It was my first time doing a spring job like this. I will just say it took a while to complete. (about 15 hours over 3 days) I know...these kinds of profects allways seem to take me longer than I first expect...so give yourself some extra time if you are at all on the slow side of f-body modding like me.
get the clamp style spring compressor, not a lever. make sure the clamp you get has a hex head on top so you can use a socket wrench when your hands get tired of cranking that little turn handle.
A telescoping magnet was a must for me as well. I tried to use needle nose pliers for the keepers but that did not work too good. (surgical clamp might work better than normal pliers) I used one of those $5 multi head screwdrivers with the telescoping on the end. worked great.

When I changed my valvesprings, it took me about 6-8 hours over 2 days. I used the lever type, but my 3800 is in a S10. The other kind would have been better and the lever probably wont work on an fbody. I bought the airholds, but ended up not using them. Instead I just made sure the piston was at TDC and let the valve rest on the piston.
