How much, on average, does it cost to have pistons reinforced with titanium?

Under the NOS section, people were saying it is a good idea, when you run NOS to re-inforce your pistons.

If this is not possible, can I buy titaniam pistons? How much would that cost to have installed?

uh usually people just get coated pistons with nitrous.

I dont think Titanium would make an Ideal piston. Don't quote me, but I'm pretty sure Titanium wouldnt work well under those circumstances because of how the metal will react at those pressures, the heat, and how it would work with cast iron cylinder walls. Most likely a titanium piston would gaul(sp) in the cylinder. Besides if they made any, they would probably cost $2000-$3000

to replace pistons........ well first the one ofr our car that are coated are $830....... the you basicly have to rebiuld the hole motor =$2000 -3000 depending on the shop....... and that resuing the stock parts

Shops really get 2000-3000 rebuilding a 3.8? That is weak. I would do it for much less than that, unless it had problems, like needing the crank turned or cyls bored, or whatever.

some find a way.

Why not just get forged pistons? They seem to hold up well to forced induction/nitrous. Coat the crowns, get the skirts couted w/teflon. Also have the valve faces & chambers coated too. All that heat energy should be taken advantage of, and not just absorbed into the coolant of spewed out the tail pipe
