I was talking to friend who was telling me how you can get aluminum heads for 3.4s. I heard the gains are amazing and worth the investment. Any1 know where and how much I can get these for? I've heard theyre for the 2.8 but you just have to slightly modify them. Thanks -B

there's a lot more to doing aluminum heads than just buying the heads and slapping them on.
if you wanna use the aluminum heads on a 3.4L RWD mounted engine, you have to get a set of Gen III Aluminum heads, the intake manifold (upper and lower) to match the heads, either from a 3100 or 3400, and a fuel rail from a 3100 or 3400. then you have to modify the timing cover and get a 90* bend to connect the heater hose to the new fitting on the 3100/3400 intake. then you have to make a bracket to elevate the ign. coils (cause they will get in the way of the 90* elbow for the heater hose) and relocate the alternator up one inch. you also have to get a longer belt, the fuel lines (hard) from the engine you get the fuel rail from, and rebend them carefully to work right with the fuel lines on the right (i had to cut out my old hard lines and then cut the rubber fuel lines and clamp the fuel lines to the hard lines) - you have to get headers, because the stock exhaust manifolds will not work with the D-shaped ports.
also, have to remove the AIR pump (for manuals only) - have to make an adapter pipe for the EGR, and figure out a way to connect it to the plenum (so the computer doesnt go apesh!t), you have to find a way to route the accelerator (gas pedal) cable to the throttle, as its turned around (cables come in from the FRONT! on FWD mounted engines) and you have to route vaccum lines properly. the PCV valve doesnt really matter, altho tossing it will void your smog-legality, and the pipe from the intake to the valve cover doesn't fit unless you make one (i have yet to do this) -- and thats just for starters.
as soon as i have some free time ill do a write up. i dont have many pictures to go with everything tho, as i was so involved with getting it done asap, i didnt really take the time to photo-document everything <sighs>
