  • new machined heads! which cam to use with it??

ok I recently purchased some heads from Shane. He had his 3.8 heads ported at a machine shop. They came with roller lifters, retainers, and comp 105 springs. He also told me they should flow 2 cfm better than supersix heads. Along with the heads I got a ported intake manifold my question to you guys is, assuming this is true, which cam should i go with. I want a good cam to fit the heads and gas mileage isnt a big deal to me. I already have headers and exhaust with a Z28 rear end. thanx for all your help!!

I wrote this a while back. Tell me if it helped you in your cam search. Maybe we will make it a sticky post.

comp cams 216/216. the one camarozach had. Said those with tuneing would get you quite far, especially with pnp heads. Dont take my word for it, i dont know jack about internal engine ****.

he got to a high 13 with that cam and weight reduction.. oh.. and either 3.73'or 4.10's

look into a custom cam. Josh at FTPP is awesome to work with. Having your head flow numbers will make it easier to get the most power out of what you have.
