• kinda of wierd Q? I need weight of 3.4L without heads or intake on.

BAsically I want ot know how much the 3.4L block weighs without the heads, intake manifolds, on it. But with the crank, connecting rods, and water pump pistons still in. Jsut a ballpark figure.

    Thanks in advance.

    ask these people v6 upgrades

there really shouldn't be that much weight difference between the 2.8/3.1/3.4 blocks. The GMPP catalog lists a new iron block 2.8 @106lb bare.

Q: why, you thinking of getting the GMPP aluminum 2.8 block & get the 3.4 stroker kit for it?

yup, the block itself weighs ~110 lbs, so with the guts still in it, it should be close to 200 lbs Id say.

are you thinking of pulling it out with your bare arms? hehe ;)

Hehe I figured not too bad, I was able to lift my 2.8L with Transmission still attached, while still in the engine bay.

nah jsut I might get another motor cheap, that I might work on slowly, and drop into my car. Only problem, is I have no garage, but I live on 3rd floor, and may need to keep it in my apartment. jsut wondering if I could lug it up the stairs. Highly doubtful As always I am broke, it is lighter then that the 250lbs. complete rear axle I lugged around by myself .

What kind of power gains have been founde in a 2.8L-3.4L stroker kit? I assumed tha one was made up by the Fiero boys.

well without the water pump I slid my old 2.8 short block off the back of a pickup on my own.. wasn't that heavy.. I dunno I think maybe 130 or so.. this is really just a guestimate but it didn't seem too bad...
