the previous owner of my 1995 camaro were idiots i guess. they decided to do some heavy physical and damaging work to my ECU and the wiring throughout the car. this causes it to give out false readings on errors, etc. so when i had it in the shop they didnt know what the hell was going on. my engine was misfiring so they replaced the "Mass Airflow Sensor"(according to the invoice) and said that the fuel pump might be the next in line for replacement. i am not a real expert at auto electronics, especially in the engine. will replacing the whole ECU (from a junkyard or something) for a few hundred the easiest way to go or will my car need a whole new re-wiring? i am going to get some more in-depth detail on the actual damage, but they did say that alot of the wires had been cut and then put together with alligator clips. help! thanks for anything that you can tell me! Matt, let me know if this is your problem,
Started off an occasional miss then you started throwing a MAF low input code. The code fires as soon as you start the car.Replacing the sensor didn't help.
Next problem you had was one day you went to start your car and it wouldn't start. It will rev high and die. After trying it for a while it will start but runs like crap. Your fuel pressure relay might be buzzing under the dash/foot rest when it doesn't want to start.
Sound about right?95 Camaro 3.8L Y2K motor <br /><a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/id/coriya71\" target=\"_blank\">www.cardomain.com/id/coriya71</a>

no, actually im not smart enough to know how to use codes! :-P what happened is that when i got the car the engine misfired once every minute or so, then as time progressed it got worse and worse, then one day i was at a stoplight for about 90-100 seconds and my rpms started to gradually drop in a jerking fashion till the engine whent kaputt. it never happened again as i found that leaving a few carlenghts in front of you and letting off the brakes to roll forward a little would stop the car from dying. the spark plugs are just about brand new and the fuel pump has low compression (http://www.camarov6.com/ubb/ultimate...c;f=1;t=014170). i think thats what ill fix next, if i get around to it. this car is messed up beyond what i imagined, so i might just use it through high school and get a better f-body to upgrade. its a shame too becuase it sure is a purdy car. ill keep the rims though. :-P

am having similer problem with my 95 3.4L have changed all ignition, injectors, ecm, car is worse when hot i'm tearing whole car down for paint over the winter, while it's down i'm going through the harness, my codes are for the 24x crank sensor loss of signal, all the above repairs were on the advice of the local dealership and have gotten me nowhere, anybody got any other ideas????? i'm tired of dealing with parts changers that can't tell a spark plug from a drain plug!!

mike h, just go man. need more people in the industry that want to be there. if you are still in high school look into the local votech school. when i was in they let us go 1/2 day votech and 1/2 day regular class. as far as cash goes its there but you have to put in the time to get it.
