Those are off of an Alero or a grand am.

I wouldn't call them high-perf heads.

do a search for 3x00 , you will find the results are very nice, russell made over 200HP with these heads and headers

its not that they are alumnium that makes them better, its because they are a much better designed head, they will flow more unported than a fully ported iron head

like they said, no O-ring, and just because they are aluminum doesnt mean they will flow more than an Iron head. The advantages of aluminum heads is they can be fixed, ie. welded, unlike cast iron. You can weld cast iron but it is very expensive. Also, being a factory GM head, the aluminum wont be as clean as an aftermarket aluminum head so welding is also limited with them.

I know, look for the "jk" although aluminum does disapate* heat better than iron.

I wonder if the aluminum heads can be installed with the stock block and pistons. I know it needs the 3400 upper and lower intake but can you keep the stock pistons but with the modified upper intake and heads?

They are better because:
-better valve angles
-they are aluminum
-quick burn chambers
-better spark plug placement

And you would have to use different pistons. These heads require more valve clearance.

I am guessing that they will not. If I am right, you might as well be discussing vtec for our engines.
