Thinking of a cam for xmas!!!!

Hey guys! I'm ready for some real performance upgrades. I'm very much considreing gettting a cam. The one I'm looking at now is Comp Cams GT cam. The durations are: 210°/210° at .050"
Intake Lift .317" (.507" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)
Exhaust Lift .317" (.507" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)
113 Lobe Separation

Let me know if this is a good cam or not. I was considering the G2 cam put it sets off the p0300 code and I dont have the bank to do this engine work annd get it programmed, yet. Also let me knwo if I should change out my springs, pushrods, retainers, etc. I'm thinkin it would be wise for performance gains. If somone knows of a better cam that won't set off the code let me know. Also with this cam or any other cam coul I switch out my 1:6 stock rockers to SLP's 1:9 rocker setup. If not I'll jsut do the cam cuz i knwo the cam will benifit more thn the rockers. Thanx guys for your input.

It's 1.9 rockers OR cam. Can't do both (AFAIK), because then you'd have huge lift.

1) GT2 cam doesn't always set off SES. I've have mine for 2 months, no lights.
2) GT cam has been proven do be a fairly good cam.
3) It's not going to be a simple $300 for the cam. By the time you're done, expect to be around $1500, depending on what you get.
4) Do a search and read up on cams. They've been beat to death here, and there's tons of info if you just do a search. You asked if you could run 1.9 rockers with the cam. That tells me you either are not familiar with what lift our engines can handle, or more likely don't know how it all works. If that's the case then you really should read and read and read until you understand it, then look into getting the cam.
