Alright, im going to be upgrading to some new rockers soon and will also be putting in some 105# valve springs. Would there be any problem using the stock lifters or should i put in the comp cams lifters? I will also be putting on a turbo if that makes a difference. also is there any reason to put new retainers on cause i cant see one.

Those 105's can't be much stifer than stock. I bet there real close to what the stock springs are.\'85 Z28, T-tops new LG4 and TH700<br />\'85 3.4L 5-speed<br />mods: <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/id/oil_pan_4\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/id/oil_pan_4</a> the nitrous exhaust O2 safety, pg 3. <br />Areo space materal engineer wantabe

I am putting in 1.9 ratio reworked rockers so i figured i would need stiffer springs to prevent valve float. i didnt think we had springs that were that stiff plus i have 60K miles on my car so i think its just a good idea to go ahead and replace them. The others i was looking at was the ls6 springs but the 105's arent much more. The other upgrade im doing with this will be to put the lightwheight pushrods from intense in.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top<br /><br />3:42 Gears<br />Zexel LSD<br />BMR upper A-Arms<br />Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout<br />Modified intake<br />Mecham Hood<br />Trans Go shift kit<br />Making rear control arms and panhard

the stock springs that came off my heads were at 45lbs on the seat with 60,000 miles on them.<b>Black</b> 1998 Pontiac <i>Firebird</i> A-4 swap<br />271.4rwhp/259.4rwtq NA<br />13.30@102.44 <br /><a href=\"http://www.freewebs.com/wickedsix98\" target=\"_blank\">www.freewebs.com/wickedsix98</a>

I also heard ours are around 60. I would use LS6/LS2 which are 90 or the 105 you chose. The turbo will like those rockers. 92 S10 3800 A4(96)<br />1/4: 14.374 @ 92.25 w/ 1.976 60\'<br />Turbo and 12\'s Coming Soon!

New springs suck or your roller cams are just beating them to death.
I pulled springs that had over 80,000 miles from my 2.8L and had 80-95 lb of seat pressure left on them.\'85 Z28, T-tops new LG4 and TH700<br />\'85 3.4L 5-speed<br />mods: <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/id/oil_pan_4\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/id/oil_pan_4</a> the nitrous exhaust O2 safety, pg 3. <br />Areo space materal engineer wantabe

It seems from most literature from aftermarket high ratio rocker manufacturer (intense for instance) suggest the LS6 springs (90# i think). Our stock springs are about 50 or 60#. I know you can use your stock retainers with LS6 springs...dont know for sure about the 105's.
I guess make sure the light weight push rods are a good match (oil passage) for the stock lifters/aftermarket rockers.
I do get valve float at about 5600 + rpm with the 1.9 aluminum rockers. (just a bit...but enough to notice) Very low miles on car...less than 10,000. Will be switching to LS6 springs very soon. I will update my 'rocker report' after evaluating spring upgrade. I sure it will make a good difference.
good luck with your new rockers T Punk.
