  • Port Matching/Valve Job Tools

Alright guys I've taken my heads apart and am ready to start the port matching/valve job. My autoshop teacher has a die grinder and says I will need sanding bits. I saw this at Summit:

    Basic Porting Kit

So my question is in addition to that porting kit what will I need?

You will need knowledge of flow and fluid dynamics. Please don't think that you can get a dremel and just go to work. Very easily you can hurt the flow performance instead of helping it. Have you done this before (or have any experience)? Do you have access to a flow bench?

I am not trying to rag. If you can do this, great. If you haven't done this before, then don't. This isn't like a bolt on mod.

i wouldnt touch anything close to the valves with a dremel.... a valve job is less than 100 bucks at most machine shops for the pair....

I got the kit with more bits than that one. The bigger one.
The ports on the v6 are so small I could not use most of them.
I used the AluminiumOxide grinding bits and the buffers, it messed up the buffers because the ports were to small.
All I used was my carbide cutters to grind out the metal and I smoothed and evened the ports out with the dremal. I did my chambers all dremal.
