That would be easy breezy if I could use magnets. But what if I dropped a lifter when the cam was out. Wouldnt it just drop streight down and then I would cause myself more trouble then just pulling off the intakes. Have you tried the magnets yet magnus?

I have decided to do this myself. I am pretty comfortable with the teardown of our topend and Edge by my side he is also fresh minded with our engine tear down because he just rebuilt his.

I just have a concern for people tearing down their motors and doing possible damage, expecially if it's a daily driver. I know it sucks to be without a car. If I can be of any other assistance please let me know.

I was just thinking about that magnet tool. How do you turn off the magnet to drop the lifter once you get the new cam installed?

would the "lifter guides" (the part that bolts
to the lifter valley to prevent the lifters
from turning in their bores) prevent the
lifters from being pulled all the way out of
their bores ?
