  • false knock ???

if my car is reading false knock at 5000 rpms, what should i do with the maft+ to help settle the situation?

what are your O2's at??? if they are below .890'ish add fuel... (richen up the WOT setting a notch)..

if timing is above 25.. pull it down a little..

    use 93 octain..

BUT... if the knock is FALSE.. nothing you do with the MAF T+ will take it away

magnus, at the present time i have no way to tell what my O2s are at.

i am just dumbfounded that i have this problem still after my valve guide was fixed.

under wot, and only under wot, i get this (mechanical terms here) EXPLOSION and then bog at 5000 rpms and then quickly recover. i dont recall hearing any pinging, but the darn exhaust is so loud i cant hear anything to tell the truth.
      i know-----i suck!

Try unpluging the MAF part of the MAFT+ and reinstall the Stock plug. It worked for me i went from 6-10 degrees of KR to none runnign the same timing and same fuel ratio.

explosion?????? that is not good at all.. you need to elaborate on that.

faulty KR sensor would set a code most likely.

when my connections weren't solid on the + and i was getting funky knock readings the maf t+ would cause my car to backfire and "explode" around 5K RPM's...

magnus, do you think it is just cause of faulty connections? slacker too was getting KR with his maft+ on also. are you currently running both applications for the maft+?

i will clean it up and see if that helps any. but for now i have not had the problem yet with the a/f portiion disconected.
