  • ********3.4 Fuel Injectors **********

I am planning on rebuilding my 3.4 in the next couple of weeks, with a cam,1.6 & new valvetrane, bored, and P&P, but with a Holley fuel pressure regulator, do i need new fuel injectors. Someone said to go with 19/hr, but won't that be too much. also, does venom make 17/hr ones, i didn't see them on summit's website. would upgrading to 17/hr Venom ones benefit me more, or will 19/hr from a 3.8 be more beneficial. thanks

      The 3.4 has 17 lb/hr and the 3800 has 22 lb/hr.

Could i clean my FI myself, or should i send them out, or should i just buy new ones because ours spray bad? Should i up to 19's or will that be overkill

am running 19's in my 3.4 only .3 richer on my rteal time data system. keep in mind all the mods i.e. p&p, cam, & more displacement will lean the mixture so larger injecters might be a good thought. whats the part # on the regulator and is it adjustable. my speed shop guru says nobody makes 1 for the 3.4

What set-up are you running? Do you have a cam, or P&P heads? If i get my 17's cleaned and redone, couldn't i just boost up the fuel pessure to compensate. here's a link to a couple of Fuel pressure regulators, i will probably be getting the holley!

The fuel pressure regulators made for the V8 TPI engines also fit the 60* fuel rails.

the rteal time data system was a type o. i have a portable data moniter function on my snap on diagnostic reader. i can moniter most all the engine peramiters as i run down the road and log and review like they do in race cars. but its only short term (10-15 min)to catch whats going on when a fault happens. and its only good for very late obd1 and all odb2 systems. as far as my set up i'm yanking eng and trans for p&p, cam, head shave, new clutch, and paint (my wife backed my pick-up onto my hood). might get a chip too. going to see what stock programing will put up with.

I wouldn't shave the heads, shave the block. The heads on the 60* don't have a lot of reinforcement.

i'm extremely interested in everything you just said. i'm going to be adding a cam, 1.6 rockers, and p&ping the heads, so will 19 lb injectors make it nice and stoich for me? i live in cali and cant be anywhere near .3 richer.

Yeah, i was going to have my stock 17's sent out and rebuild, but now i will run them once the cam is in, or just wait and see, then buy venom 19 hr. ones. i am afraid 19 hr injectors will cause me to run rich. can't i just boost the pressure with the regulator on the 17s and be ok. Viper, which do you have
