Will the mellings hi-flow oil pump 134HV need and modifications to fit in my 3.4, or will it just be a direct replacement of stock. Also, do you guys reccomend getting a new pickup unit and screen when replacing the pump, or should i clean and re-use my stocker assuming nothing is damaged.
Thanks, i appreciate your assistance.
It is a replacement part meaning that it will be a direct replacement for stock items. Keep in mind that when you install this part, you should add about 1/2 quart more oil than manufacturers recommendation because it is a high flow pump. As far as a new screen and pickup, if you are in there, you may as well replace the easy and cheap parts.

ok, thanks josh. btw i know this is off topic, but what is difference between the jet, bbk, and Holley Fuel Pressure regulators. i will be ordering one soon. thanks for your help!
The Holley is the best one in my opinion...not because of the price or anything, but for ease of adjustment. I have heard from some customers that the BBK will not allow them to drop their pressure as low as the Holley will. I am running the Holley one on my car and love it. It is definitely worth the investment.

hmm, mine came with instructions saying to trim the baffle </font>[/QUOTE]Mine didn't come with those instructions. Granted, I removed the entire baffle when I put the Manley rods in and deepened the oil pan, but I don't think it is mandatory on the 3.4 oil pan. Maybe it was necessary on some of the other engines that the 134HV works on, but I don't think it applies to ours.

So should i remove the baffle. would that result in better oil flow. i guess i will see what happend when i get my pump. Ben, i will wait and please let me know what you find with your, wether or not you ground it out, or wether or not it fits.
Right now the pump is at Josh's place b/c I'm waiting for him to get the rest of my part and then send them to me. But he can open my pump up and see what it says.
