• Accel Xmas Gift

I got the Accel Ignition Coils for christmas. I heard from my friends they get hot. Should i put them on or is it a bad mod. and return them and get something else?

I heard that, too, but really never had a problem with them. I have them now for 6 months and they work pretty well, even though there were no huge gains...

I have them on my 3.4L V6 and they don't get along with the MSD box too well. I am gonna be putting the MSD coils on when I put the engine back together.

I think the verdict on the Accel coils is that they're bad for warmer climates, I could be wrong though. www.summitracing.com has MSD coils.

Accel coils suck!!!! I had them a couple years ago and in about 4 months it started arcing from underneath a plugwire boot to one of the hold down screws. Needless to say I will never use them again. Besides the fact that if you ignition system is in good shape they will not make more power.
