  • Cam Install in progress.....

I have kinda been using the guide on Magnus' website. Very helpful.

    Started at like 12:30 today.
    Drained the coolant.
Found some oil residue in the water. (not much)
    Drained the oil.
Took a break while waiting for it to drip out.
Removed the intake, belt, battery, and radiator hoses.
    Removed the crank pulley.
    Drained the fuel system.
    Removed alternator.
    Removed plug wires and ICM.
    Disconnected fuel lines.
    Removed EGR system.
Unplugged all wires on upper intake.
    Uplugged injectors.
    Unbolted Fuel Rail.
    Pulled off fuel rail.
    Removed bolts from upper intake.
(Seems a 5/16 fits them better than an 8 mm... weird.)
Removed upper intake. (watch out for the vacuum line to the brake booster!)
    Removed upper intake gasket.

    Stopped at 5:00 PM.
I am happy with the way its going.

For those who don't know, I am going with a new cam, lifters, pushrods, rockers, springs, gaskets, etc.
I will keep everyone posted on the progress.

I'm new to this board, but will be very interested in your progress. It may be the way i go with mine in the near future. Have you the stats on what gains you'll see?
