  • L67 compatibility...

Okay, forget the fact that our hoods won't clear them. Few questions...

    1. Do they have the same pattern of exhaust manifolds as the L36? If so then i can certainly use my CIA headers with it correct?

    2. Say i were to just adapt the blower to our car, (knowing that it won't clear the hood), i would need the TB, intake manifolds, intake, and what else??? Will our heads flow enough for the blower, or would they need to be worked? If i did adapt it to mine then i'd do the whole forged internals thing too, but i probably will just get a seperate L67 motor to avoid alot of hassle.

Thanks for all help, searches turned up nothing to answer those questions.

exhaust manifold pattern is the same.

It matters how much boost you want to run if you need to forge the interanls and I can't really think of anything else you would need. The only thing I can think of is the supercharger won't fit. A GTP engine it turned sideways in our cars, you wouldn't be able to fit the supercharger onto our it.

You also would have to use the L67 heads.

The problem that prevents a L67 being used is the PCM, not the bolt-on stuff. Can't use a L67 PCM in a F-body, and can't run a L67 with the L36 PCM.

        1. They are actually the same head until '99, except the L67 injector hole is drilled out.
After 99, they are seperate castings, but they basically the same head.

        2. If you adapted a different blower like a procharger, then stick with the L36 intake and heads.

You may or may not need the TB. If I were going through all the work, I would put an LS1 TB on there.

The heads shouldn't be a major restriction. But they help. Definately put a cam in.

L67 pistons are not forged, but forged are available.

Programming, I am pretty sure you could get a custom session with Digital Horsepower. They would get all the tuning straightened out. But it ain't cheap.

You will also need the pulleys( crank, idler, tensioner, etc.)
