If you like laying on your back with your arms over your head for about 6-8 hrs. you will love changing your fuel pump by removing the tank. I know I didn't like it to much. Done it on a '89 Iroc & 95 Camaro 3.4.

            I cut mine...

had a problem with one of the return lines leaking. was able to open it back up in mear seconds rather than re droping the tank. I read the same article and would do it again in a heart beat.

id make a bigger cut than that just so u dont hit the lines or the pump. but i cut it in my 89 camaro and it took a couple hours still. then in the 95 we pulled the tank down 3/4 of the way out and put it in there. it took us a few hours. not 6-8 but a while. then we had a bad pump and had to do it again and it took us a little over 2 hours to get the tank completly out and back in.

Fuel pump is in. Had I seen the guide earlier I would have cut, but I dropped the tank. Took a while to do. But hey, I am done and I don't have to do it again. No sweat.
