    Can a 1998-2002 computer be used....

    Can a 1998-2002 computer be used on a 96 engine? If not why?

    And if so, can i hook one up to my 96 engine and use the later model hypertech stuff on it with the say, 2001 computer? (or is that a wiring issue?..i just dont know)

    Just wondering..would simplify my life if it is possible.

    no, different pinouts and controls.

    You can use a 97 on your 96, thats it.

    To use a 98 you need to do a lot of rewiring and fuel system changes.

    To do a 99+ you need to do all that for the 98 AND a lot of TB/gas pedal stuff... NOTHIGN at all easy.
