  • Basic cam question

Here's the deal I've been thinking about getting cam for some time the only draw back is I'm scared to f___ up my car. So I'm just wanting to know is it possible to get a cam that makes good power with out messing up my car also what should be a reasonable price for all parts needed and install?
    Thanks guys

Yes you can get a strong cam that will provide very nice power gains without causing any problems. Look for the parts + install (if you dont do it yourself) to run ~$1,000 or less I think.

        Currently I am running

        CROWER 196/196 .496/.496@1.6 115lsa 111ic

        My new cam pending install

        Compcam 218/218 .520/.528@1.6 113lsa 110ic

My Crower cam is up for sale if you want it. Passed emissions and so far have had no problems. Drove about 3k miles on it. Just too mild for my taste. Put down 193RWHP and 212TQ with this cam. Its good for mild conservative daily driver. When you run more agressive cams you have more problems. Im sure my 218 will need some tuning. And asking $100obo for the Crower cam if interested.

I was thinking a VS cam with 114lsa instead of 115 would be a good choice for N/A. By the way does anybody know the VS cam specs off hand?
