owever your speed limiter will not allow it.. so you need to dissable that.. there is a way to do it.. by disconnecting some sensors..
you will also want to get them to hook the inductive pulse sensor that typically goes on the spark plug wires to a fuel injector wire.. that will get you accurate RPM readings..
other then that.. have fun.. and scan your graphs..

AllTheGoodNamesAreGone you are a tool.
Naptown, just take it to the place and if they have a dyno they probably know what they're doing so let them do what you're paying them to do.
Could have sworn you couldn't disable the speed limiter by disconnecting some wires..

You can try it. Disconnect the speed sensor on the tranny. It's easy to disconnect. I tried it, but the downside, when my PCM saw it non-functional, it put a rev limiter in place at about 4500 rpm. 3rd gear pulls give you a good idea where your powerband is, and are not very far off from the 4th gear pulls. Minor differences is all.

was calling me a tool really nessisary??
and no.. they probably dont know what they are doing..
and yes.. there is a way to dissable the speed limiter.. it involves disconnecting the tranny sensor and the rear end sensors.. but I have never had to do it..
your other option is to dyno in 3rd.. not ideal.. but better then missing your upper rpms..

and yes.. it was necessary to call you a tool.
and yes.. it was necessary because you suggest he do something that you have no idea how to do and admit you have no experience in.
and no.. you have not learned to spell yet.
and no.. unplugging the speed sensor will not work in our cars, they will go into limp mode. Sick-Sixx has had dyno days at MTI and we have tried this and it did not work. I would trust MTI in knowing what works and what does not work when dynoing a car.
this is psobably due to the fact that your car has two speed sensors.. one of the tranny.. and one on the diff..
I think you need to disconnect both.. Information I recived from Rob.. our autoX/roadrace moderator.. but.. god only knows if it works.. i never tried it.. and he was not sure either..
again.. i was not 100% sure on that part.. thus i left it open for others advice.. not to mention i dont know how auto/manual effects it..
and you are 100% right.. i have never had issues dynoing my car in 4th.. becuase i dont have a speed limiter.. unlike you..
regardless.. I cant wait to see the graphs..
ohh and about the spelling.. i dont really care.. as long as people understand what i am saying then thats all that matters.. i have a life beyond whoring up message boards (unlike yourself).. however i also have alot of usefull information and have been pretty active in this section of the site for about 2 years now (i had a different name before).. i even reacall helping you out a few times with questions.. so anyway, typicaly i will spend only a few moments on a post.. and quite often its very late at night.. i get tired.. there is no reason to make fun.. I am really getting tired of your attitude.. there are plenty of other palces you can post whore.. like the lounge..

Well last nite I tried to get everything together to install my nitrous kit again but some things happened so I didnt get it installed.
However I did do the dyno. I hit rev limiter in 4th @ 4700rpm and made 170rwhp/205lbs. Thats through the stock 2 peice steel driveshaft. After I get rid of the rev/speed limiters and a 1 peice aluminum d/s I should see about 195-200rwhp and 215-220lbs.
Also my A/F was at like 18 or something ridiculous. So now I need to find a fuel pressure regulator.
When I dynoed my speed limiter (not rev limiter) kicked in at 5200rpm.

25-30 hp from the drive shaft?
I think your being a little optimistic
Or was ur hp still climbing in 4th when you hit the limiter?
So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
