Yes it was still climbing. I didnt just say a driveshaft. You have to remember when you have all of that rotating weight and mass it loses its abillity to put that power to the ground because it has to work harder.

hmmm.. I dont really know much about the jet chips.. or how they work.. but its another posibility to look into.. but again.. you dont want the tuning.. just the ability to remove the limiter.. hmmmmmm...
No the scu will get you to fourth gear and disable the speed limiter. It just takes alot of trial and error till you get it right. MINE WORKS WHEN I NEED IT....
I posted about this way back in the day. OBD2 cars do not like having the VSS unplugged, but OBD1 cars do not seem to mind.
And you do get better RPM readings from the injector wire as someone above said. The 3.8 ignition system is a waste spark system or something and has trouble picking up a reading with the traditional reading. When my 3.8 was dyno'd they hooked onto an injector wire.

just have someone program your gear ratio to like 4.56 gears and if you have 3.23s or something it will give you a slow speedo but wont kit 120 when you top your engine out. you should hit 6,000 or so. i have never tried this but some other guy on this site said it works wonders. when your at home jack up the back and experiment like a psycho mad scientist. given that your computer will adjust the to the ratio it shouldn't cut out until you hit redline. your tires will be at like 135 + when your speedo will only read 100+ have fun and tell us if this works for you

quote:
Originally posted by Die Ford V8: will a governor from a different rig work like a corvette or z28?

The governor is in the computer, it is not a physical object. The gear ratio needs to be accurate or the shift points will be off. You can have the speed limited removed but it id exspensive. :(
I had mine removed, but come to think of it, i never checked to see if it was gone. An 85 MPH speedo doesnt help the situation. One day ill hook up my autotap and check.
So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
