If they are starting to strip, be very careful in the future....that can turn into a MAJOR problem. When I worked at Autozone, we had some thread chasers and then some inserts that go into the hole after you chase the threads. The kit was cheap and it is a pretty simple fix.- Josh
If you have any questions or need installation pics/help, e-mail me: Viper98885@aol.com
\'93 Camaro Hardtop
\'01 Lincoln LS8 Sport
\'00 Yamaha YZF-R6
Full Throttle Performance

try out a thread chaser first. if it becomes apparent that that won't suffice, you can always install a helicoil. i've used them quite a bit on aircraft cyl heads & have had no problems. i've had a lot of experience with this & would not recommend a n00b doing this, as you can fuk stuff up pretty quick.
you "can" do it without removing the head (i've never removed a head) but you want to be sure to borescope the cyl before turning the crank at all. if someone inexperienced is doing it, i would definitly remove the head.
