  • valvetrain loud after cam?

Mine is very loud. I know I tightened theh rockers all the way down, I torqued them to spec and then moved the motor over until the next cyl. was at tdc and torqued them all again. I did this for all 6 cylinders just to be sure. (they all got torqued 6 times.) Then I gave them the aditional turn.

The valvetrain is pretty loud. It runs great though. At like 2000 rpm the noise comes on and goes all the way up.

Also have a problem with the plastic cover behind the crank pully rattling or rubbing somehow. Its a very loud plastic vibration noise. Any ideas?

the plastic piece isn't cliped on right if it makes noise.. it clips on in several places.

A bigger cam will make a noisier valvetrain definately... but its hard to say how loud is too loud.

Mine would get loud about 2K RPM's too and such.. did you change the valve sprigns/retainers at all?

If its a contiguous noise then everything is even, if its an uneven clatter you could have a loose rocker arm still.

Mine starts at like 2200 and is even all the way up.

I did change springs. I went with LS1 springs, so I used the stock retainers and keepers.

The noise seems to be coming from all of the rockers on both sides, so I assume its from the cam.

It makes hardly any noise at low rpm/idle.
