I was reading my Chiltons manual and they keep referring to 1st design and second design for the heads and intake. I know the intakes are different but what a bout the heads? I have a 2001 and I am looking to put a ported set of 98 heads on my car, will i have any problems? I can only see a difference in torque specs between the 1st design and second design in the book. Can anyone clear this up for me?? Mainly just worried about getting the older heads on the newer motor Thanks!

Locater pins.
The lower intake gaskets have knobs on them for some kind of locaters....
I had the early design with no knobs.

Im thinking of buying pewter2k1's heads, i have a 96. after a p&p, i plan on installing them.. Ok just talked to a tech at a chevy dealership:
