Besides the Helms Shop manual for a 2001 Camaro 3800 II, does anyone know of pinout/wiring, diagrams/schematics to help a weary traveller. Am currently swapping the entire drivetrain eng/4l60-e/rear axle into a 1980 MGB roadster, and thoroughly stummped on the OBD II hookup, BCM with magic key, VSS, VATS, PCM hots, brake pedal switch, P/N switch, etc. I called Painless, but neither they, nor Performance Parts.com, have anything for the L-36. I've invested in the BCM 50hrtz spoof, the O2 after-cat spoof, and a tach converter. Don't have a clue how to get that VSS into a 20 year old mechanical drive speedo head . And I do not think I'm smart enough to rewire the PCM, and so far, can not find a flasher to reset that black box to just a few basic functions and the Trans control. Any bright ideas from the Board Guys and Gals? I'll appreciate any and all leads. Thanx, Vem

Ok, f what painless said, they also told me they had nothing to help me, but I am running their "LT1" vats bypass. It has direction with it and connect into the "Theft Deterrent Fuel Enable" pin on the PCM. With this, you do not need the BCM, chipped key, any of that.

The car will run without the rear O2s hooked up, hell I still dont have the rear one hooked up yet after 2 year and dont plan on hooking it up.

If you have the complete harness, it shouldnt be to bad to make it work. There are only a few power and ground wires and the ignition wires. The gauges, obd2 port and other wires add lots of work though.

As far as the speedo, there might be some kind of adapter. I am not sure if one exist or not. You might be outta luch there.

Just make sure the power wires have enough juice to power everything. I lost 6 months thinking I had a vats problem, when in reality all it was a power wire that only had enough juice to power the pcm until it fired. Then it would stall after 3 seconds, which led me to believe it was vats. Then for whatever reason one day I cut all the power wires and hooked them directly to the battery, fired right up. Oh well, live and learn.
