Ok, I'm picking up a low mileage new 3800 Series II to replace mine, but before I do I'm gonna strengthen it up a bit. I will not be supercharging the motor or adding nitrous, but I will be doing a full port and polish on it eventually with a cam. So here's the question, while it's out, this is the set of stuff to do so far:
SLP Performance Valve Springs
Comp Cams Titanium Retainers (overkill, who cares)
GM Factory Valve Locks
Manley 4130 Chromemoly Pushrods
Comp Cams High Energy Hydraulic Roller Lifters
New Stock Fuel Injectors
Is this enough to pretty much guarantee that a lot of hard running and higher rpms arent going to kill the engine too quick without supercharging and nitrous? I know its strong enough stock, but I want it to be nice and sturdy for the roughest situations, and just in case I do eventually put some nitrous or boost on it.. So my main question, without nitrous/boost, need I touch the rods, pistons, or crank?? Thanx again for the help!
