OK From my understanding the HP Tuner software goes onto a PC and u use a cable from PC to ur PCM to tune it, correct? If i am, where do I get the cable from? Can I get teh cable, software, and use a laptop, and just tune my car?
Thanks for the info guys.

unless you go into a tuner package with someone else and then get it for two cars. Then just take your cable (other guy gets other one) and then save the software on your PC so you both can have it at the same time.
Yeah, I just wanted to get the cable and flash it with everything myself, but it looks like all of this is done when u order using ur VIN, so i imagine, it would be pretty hard to do. Im gonna look into it whenI get home, there should be some way to unlock the chip inside the cable to flash it with other cars.

No, you order by year and type of car. If you order one for your car, it will work on all 00 V6 F-Bodies. ;)
hrmm, I wonder then if I can find the cable, then "find" the software to flash the chip inside the cable to my car, or anyone else with lets say an 01 or a 99, u know, get more done with it ;)

;) ;) i would think they wouldve thought about that and maybe locked the software to the hardware besides why rip off their hard work?

What you are talking about is piracy and is against the law. The people that created HP Tuners (once of which is a member of this board) are obviously talented programmers and put a lot of hard word into the hardware and software.
Pay them for their expertise and stop trying to figure out a way to rip them off.

Yeah, meant no disrespect, and as a show of good faith I will be purchasing your set up sometime this year to tune my car, way more in depth than a hypertech.
