hmmm, good point, I didn't even think about this angle. How the heck would the maft know when you're at wot? It doesn't tie into the tps or rpms. It just has to take anything above a certain threshold on the maf and assume it means wot.
So if it's designed to come in early in order to catch wot at low rpms, then it will also prematurely switch from base to wot at only part-throttle when the flow is high at the higher rpms.
If it's designed to come in late, in order to catch wot only and no part throttle, then it will fail to switch at wot at low rpms, until the flow comes up as the rpms climb.
That could explain why my ltrim readings were going positive at 85mph cruise, and going negative below 75mph. I was probably playing back and forth across the maft threshold for base vs wot.
I think I feel a headache coming on... :D
