"3. When changing values on the BASE setting of the translator you are changing the signal across the whole range. WOT settings fine tune just WOT on top of your BASE settings.

If you want to get technical, the WOT setting actually kicks in at a certain frequency. "

hmmm, good point, I didn't even think about this angle. How the heck would the maft know when you're at wot? It doesn't tie into the tps or rpms. It just has to take anything above a certain threshold on the maf and assume it means wot.

So if it's designed to come in early in order to catch wot at low rpms, then it will also prematurely switch from base to wot at only part-throttle when the flow is high at the higher rpms.

If it's designed to come in late, in order to catch wot only and no part throttle, then it will fail to switch at wot at low rpms, until the flow comes up as the rpms climb.

That could explain why my ltrim readings were going positive at 85mph cruise, and going negative below 75mph. I was probably playing back and forth across the maft threshold for base vs wot.

    I think I feel a headache coming on... :D

"In order to warm up your glass of milk one must place the glass in the middle of the microwave. Now, be careful as some microwaves use the 12Ghz setting and others 13Ghz. In short term this might not have much effect on performance, but in long term it might cause undesired results. It is imperative that place the glass as close to the center as possible. I don't want to get to technical on this, BUT you might throw off the efficiency by up to 10% if the glass is not centered. Many people do not understand this, but I've asked WHY WHY and noone answered. I posted on many cooking boards. This fact should be considered important. After all, 60 sec might be too hot and 50 sec too cold. You want to get it in between 50 and 60 sec for 2% milk. If your milk is 1%, then you want to shoot for 40 to 50 sec as the volumetric efficiency is increased."

      have a nice day

One final question, what is the range of base setting, 0 to ?. I am curious only about the MAF dials, not the timing. I am just wondering how much it can correct. If I know what the base numbers range from, I can figure out what percent it can compensate.

Each step is a 5% increment on the base dial.

There are 4 rich steps (clockwise) 5-20% rich.

There are 7 lean steps (counterclockwise) 5-35% lean.
