• Did I Miss Anything? Please look..

Ok, Im not messing withe internals, going to buy a used motor and rebuild everything pretty much that moves except the crank/connecting rods/pistons. Here's everything I've found to replace to make it like new:

1. Remove heads, manifolds, all accessories and thoroughly clean EVERYTHING.

2. Polish out inside of all manifolds and throttle body.

3. Thoroughly clean all gasket surfaces.

4. Install Comp Cams High Energy Hydraulic Roller
Lifters.

5. Install SLP High Performance Valve Springs.

6. Install Comp Cams Titanium Valvespring
retainers (overkill never hurts).

7. Install new GM valve locks.

8. Install Manley 4130 Chromemoly Pushrods.

9. Install new replacement roller rockers and
rocker bolts. (cam going in so not putting
high ratio rockers on, couldnt find any
aluminum lightweight roller rockers with only
1.6 lift on them for the 3.8)

10. Install new stock fuel injectors.

11. Install MSD Blaster Ignition coils and
AC Platinum spark plugs.

12. Install new GM Timing Chain.

Am I missing anything on here except the internals?? This is going to be a summer long buildup project so I'll have the money and time to do it, also going to use my dad's polishing accessories to make the manifolds nice and shiny Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Was also looking for higher quality fuel injectors only with the same flow rate as stock. Thanx again!

Does anybody have a picture of the Manley Nex-Tec valve springs or know if they're any better than SLP's springs on the Ammperformance.com website for the 3.8? There is quite a price difference but both are supposed to support up to 0.600 lift, but obviously something must be different. Also, are there any aftermarket valve stem seals like Crane's on summitracing.com that will work with our cars?

you can modify all the valvetrain you want. But its not going to do much good with the stock cam in there. The cam is where you get the power. Have you considered swapping that out? Upgrading springs and lifters with a stock cam is pointless.

I'm buying a used 2000 v6 engine to work on and am going to add a power adder and everything else to it eventually. Just decided to do the internals as well. But the first thing I'm doing besides taking it apart and cleaning it all out is to build up the valvetrain nice and strong. Then will come the pistons/rings/wristpins from Ross and a set of stock grand prix gtp forged connecting rods and bearings. Just wanted to know some more about which valvetrain parts were better and why so I can plan.

cboney, please reduce your sig to 5 lines or less.

Also, there is no need for multiple sig postings in the same topic in advanced tech.

thanks.
