question about port and polish

I just had my lower intake ported and polished and it was $125. My heads were $569 which included before and after flow charts, Stage 3 competition port and polishing of intake and exhaust runners, match port intake to heads, match port headers to exhaust ports, hot tanked the heads, 5-angle valve job with a little backlash on the valves. I have the modified 3.4L intake with the LT-1 TB which I bought used for $350. I know this is more than you were talking about doing, but it should give you a rough idea. I would imagine that the heads would run about $350 for a basic P&P with a 3-angle valve cut. The intake should run about the same and I don't know how much the upper intake or TB would run. Hope this helps.- Josh
If you have any questions or need installation pics/help, e-mail me: Viper98885@aol.com
\'93 Camaro Hardtop
\'01 Lincoln LS8 Sport
\'00 Yamaha YZF-R6
Full Throttle Performance

I'm right there with 93v6firebird.... I hear of it being done all the time but from what I've seen, it doesn't make a huge difference unless you're preparing to run boost or nitrous...
I would imagine the bennifits are less drag on the engine (some freed up hp..), improved durability..... someone fill in the blanks here!1994 Camaro 3.4L M5 R.I.P.
You know what they say- a small engine means big... errr... e/t\'s
www.pbase.com/rrj72/the_accident
replaced with: red 97 A4 vert (my brothers as soon as i find my REAL replacement)
soon to come: 1969 RS/SS
\"All you need are the esentials: scented candles, massage oil, and Berry White write that down.\" -Van Wilder

Well, the casting on the 3.4L heads are the same as on the old 2.8L V6 heads as well as the intake so you know that the 3.4L is pretty choked off. If the head adn intake work is done right, but a good machinist, you will tell very noticible gains. I think Tiago can back me on this one...maybe.- Josh
If you have any questions or need installation pics/help, e-mail me: Viper98885@aol.com
\'93 Camaro Hardtop
\'01 Lincoln LS8 Sport
\'00 Yamaha YZF-R6
Full Throttle Performance

I called some people like I told you I would. Except we never seem to be on AIM at the same time, so I'm reopening this thread. Anyways... From the info I've gathered the closest place (to me) that does a "true port and polish" is in bmore. A place called Lads and here's the number I was givin. 410 799-1763. I havent called them only cause its long distance and I'm already expect a big cell phone bill :/ I was told that nobody around here does it, but if you happen to find a plave that says they could, they're lieing and you shouldnt let them touch your engine. Also... I was told that Lads's estimates on time are undershot, "if they say 2 months, dont be surprised when it takes 4". This is all I could dig up. Sorry if its not what you wanted.
