hey guys...this is gonna sound really n00bish..mostly cuz i AM a n00b..lol..and i was wondering and i know someone can help me out...ok i have a '99 3.8l v6 camaro...all i have is dual flows, and i know i cant compete with any z28 or anything with the ls1. i was wondering how much it would cost to put in a ls1 engine or even a ls6 engine, the z06 one...like around how much would that cost to have everything running nicely? thanks for putting up with my n00bishness...

you can do it, do a search about ls1 swap on the advanced tech. you would find a lot of information there, even prices and stuff.
you can also look for the latest post made by magnus or nino. i know there are others but this is what i can rememeber right now [img]smile.gif[/img] they have done it also.

haha i know...i didnt mean to put it in this one..i was reading some kill stories and i jus hit new topic...lol..sorry bout that...i did beat like a 98 civic piece of crap last nite...i played baseball with this guy and he pulls up next to me and gives me a few revs...well i had some friends in the car and i didnt wanna race...but he pushed me too far with his little attitude...his mods are...a big coffee can stuck on the back..that looked to be about it..it really sounded like crap..but anyway...i held the brake and pressed the gas to about 2300rpm..(i have an auto)and it turned green and i was gone...im in the far left, he was in the middle lane..after that he changes and gets in the right lane and i stay in the left and in the middle is a like a stang gt..haha..he didnt even bother with him..he was throwing out revs at the stang..but i hit it again and SMOKED him off the line once again..i was like 8 car lengths ahead..and i was droppin back down to speed limit, and he flies by me and like 60..we were all laughin at him..wut a loser..i also was playin with a z28 and a trans am firebird, but i am not gonna even try them.....yet... lol, ya, i had an 89 hatch back POS tryin to run me last fri... killed him, i love the smell of cooked rice... as far as the engine thing goes.. if you want to , go for it, but its gunna mean higher insurance cuz of the v-8... if i were you i'd boost the 6 with the Tiago option. i was thinkin about an LS6 as well for a while, but cost wise...not worth it (just my opinion) plus if you have a turbo... when you spank that one guy that you cant stand round where you live (everyone has an a$$ they wanna beat down on) you can be "yup its a six".... priceless99\' Camaro v6 T5- SOLD<br />2004 VW Golf TDI

Buy and LS-1 and get the CNC LS-6 heads cam and intake swap from Pace Performance for $2400 and have it put on the engine before install. With just getting an LS-1 and all essential parts and swapping it in the car. It can be done anywhere from $3,500 up depending on how good of a deal you can get, ie parts, install.2000 Firebird. Whisper Lid, True duals, TSP mail order tune, Built Tranny , TCI 2800 stall verter, B&M tranny cooler, Eaton LSD, 3.42 gears. hey thanks guys...lol ya i would love to put a turbo on my 6 and say ya its jus a six...but i would never be able to beat some of these z28s, trans ams, and ss that roam my area...and i also read when i searched for this that i wouldnt have to pay higher insurance because i am keeping the same car with the same vin #. any truth to that? where would i even go about finding a nice ls1, new or with low miles? and wut about the ls6? anyone ever done anything with that? thats less money than the ls1 isnt it? and i couldnt find anywhere when i searched what is everything i would need to do a change..like the engine,tranny,computer, all that crap..how much would it cost total? my v6 only has 43000 miles on her, so either i wanna sell the engine for around the price itll cost to do the switch or i can wait till she dies on me, or gets old, like 100000+ miles on her...Bada Bing...
