Just a little FYI. Before I bought the Crane cam (250801) for my 3.4, I was told that the Crane cams are soft and lobes have been known to go flat. I had been working with Crane cams for years and had no problems, so I got it anyways. I ran the motor from Jan 04 to Nov 04 and have since sold the engine. The buyer tore it down and found one of the intake lobes flattened out. Crane used to make good stuff but now I would hesitate before buying another crane product.

i looked under the cam specs, and saw tiago had like a 248/258 something....i thought with an idle like his, it must be a custom or aftermarket. Jerriko, the guy who is working on my heads said to only get comp. he has raced for 30 years, and said too many crane, and lunati, and even sometimes edelbrock cams flatten out. so comp custom grind all the way!!!

Wolf, just out of curiosity where did you get the lift numbers from (besides your cam card) i mean when i called comp, they gave me no advicce on sizeing my custom grind cam. Did u just decide togo .500 and .525 lift, or did they help advise you. basically, don't want to undercam, and also don't want to overcam. i think the 224 will be a good mix though. i may lower the lift slightly to like .496 and .500. what are your thoughts. maybe i'll just keeep it the same. i duno, but u said it idles nice, had a noticeable lope to it. did ur car vibrate at idle?
