• what injector size

hey guys i haven gotten my car back and i'm probably putting in the 24 lb injector tomorrow. what do you think i should be running. i have gotten so much input that i think that my head is going to roll off soon. sooo, check out the mods and let me know. i have a bin file on the way and the hp tuner to work with it. i was running so lean on the 22 lb injectors that they were white. help me asap i need to call them first thing in the morning if i decide to change the size yet again. HELP

Hmmm... I run 19's...... but... I have stock cam.

You have a GT cam....22's didn't cut it?

    Maybe accel 24's?

i got the 24 accel but my car just got the cam put in along with the p&p, gears posi and the 3 angle valve job. but just straigh off the back with just headers, y pipe high flow cat full exhaust ,cai, whisper lid and n/x. but i think that i have always been lean cause i would always fall flat on my face in a race once it came to second and third gear.(still won!) hehe always. i'm going to head up to the shop tonight to tune it and then hopefully pick it up tomorrow. wish me luck!

I don't know how everyone else feels, but with tuning out now I don't think going too big with injector sizing is a problem, it's better to get MORE than enough injector for your mods and your future mods than to get something that you're going to run lean on.

Even the years that need modifications to run GTP injectors I think thats the way to go, still cheaper than buying a new set.

and 36# injectors will support the majority of anything you would ever do. Also it would be easy to copy the injector tables from a GTP for the tune.

Thats just my opinion take it for what it's worth, but I don't see the point in upgrading to something as small as a 24# injector.

what kind of IPW's do you run at wot and what size injectors are you using currently? Have you ever checked to see if your out of injector? I little g is currently running at 95-96% injector duty cycle at wot with stock heads/cam...add heads/cam/nitrous on top of that and only 9% more fuel over that my thinking is she'll be over 95% duty cycle pretty easily which wont be healthy for them.

is that due to his 4.10 gear ratio too??..i forgot she is using 3.73s in addition to the heads and cam..the nitrous wont have any impact because she is using a wet kit which doesnt utilize the injectors to pull more fuel

its due to alot of things, but mainly most cars gm puts out are on the ragged edge...does anyone know if ls1 injectors will swap over to the 3800? Like say stock ls1 28lb injectors?

I agree with the use of the GTP injectors. With tuning, I see no difference in drivability but I have plenty of room for the future.

As for the LS1 injectors, they have the same electrical connectors and they look identical to the GTP injectors. I think they would work just like the GTPs (2000+ would have to do some modifying) and you could cut and paste an LS1 table.

I believe LS1 injectors are direct fit for later model V6s ie 98+

and LT1 injectors are direct fit for the earlier models.

Those years may not be 100% correct, but I know of some 24# LT1 injectors ran in 3800IIs and some 28.8 LS1 injectors as well.

call the shop to talk about the injectors and he said that last night he was talking to a buddy of his who has a ls1 with over 500 hp and he is running 30 lb injectors. and he think that 24 will be fine with my set up. ***wet shot*** plus i can up the fuel pressure on the fuel rail.

what are the stock 22lb injectors rated at? It appears they are rated at 58psi like ls1 injectors...just want to make sure.

I think our 22lb injectors are rated at like 43psi, which is why I hear LS1 injectors are like 24lbs to us.

I agree that there is no reason not to put in GTP injectors now that we have software available. There shouldnt be any drivability issues using them. I have a set laying around ready to go in.
