mine didn't explode, it burnt up literally.

Spec is the only way to go for us. Stage 3 or 4 or 5

Well, due to the fact that it didn't burn up, they are considering it to be a possible defect. They are going to make sure everything is OK and rebuild me a stronger disk (Stronger than the original dual friction disk). For under $75.

The clutch might not have the holding power of the spec 4 or 5, but it isn't supposed to. If their customer service wasn't so good, I would probably buy a spec.

I wouldn't dare use a shop. I did all the work myself.

Only thing needed to pass emissions is no SES light. It doesn't set one, but even if it did, I would reset it in the parking lot as it takes a few minutes to come on anyways.

Update to this - they are putting the flywheel side on both sides of the new disk.
It should give it twice the strength of the original dual friction, and a little less longevity.

Oh well, when they explode, they don't last that long either....

Centerforce has been very cool about the whole thing, and they are replacing it and beefing it up free of charge.

BTW - even though it broke, I do not consider it a peice of crap. The clutch has never slipped and holds a 100 shot on nittos just fine. I believe it broke because of a defect. There where no hotspots on the pressure plate or anything. If you plan on using this clutch for a cam/100 shot nitrous and still being VERY streetable, it will work fine.
