well i thought maybe the valves were adjusted wrong so last night i tore the plenum and fuel rail off and opened up the valve covers.

my comp install guide says to rotate the engine until the intake valve opens and closes then adjust the exhaust rocker. then rotate the engine until the exhuast valve begins to open, then adjust the intake rocker. they says you tighten the rocker nut until the pushrod wont spin in your fingers anymore.

anyway i backed the nut off and readjusted them and went for a drive this morning. i notice a slight bit more pull and the top end seems a bit better, but honestly i dont know what im doing with this rocker adjustment thing. some people tell me to adjust the rockers until the pushrod stops wiggling, some say do it til it stops turning.

so is it possible theyre adjusted wrong? what would the engine be doing if the rockers were too tight? too loose?

        run like shyt
wont start. lots of things. can happen if not adjusted right.
if i didnt have my distributor 180 off when i tried to fire mine up. the next thing to do would be to check, and fix every valve. in adjusting them all. what a pain in the @$$ that woulda been.
now its waiting in the dealership on a lift for the fuel line to come in to replace whats htere its rusted i dotn want it ther ecant get the filter off. and need to chang eht efuel filter.
and im waiting on the alignment/windows to be fixed. and then its off to the exhaust shop to spend 300-400 on a custom x pipe system. to my glass packs.
btw i have a distributor. i have an old school 350 sbc carbed in my 4th gen. v6 fbody.

A 93 3.4L doesn't have a distributor. What kind of engine swap are you working on?

Yes, they have that so the oil pump can be driven by the cam. 3.4Ls don't have distributors, btw.

ill hopefully have it on the road monday or tuesday. all depends on the weather to get it trailered down to the exhaust shop then how long it takes them. and teh weather to trailer it back.
