Ok, I am 100% that I need to buy a set of forged pistons and good rings to safely run nitrous or boost beyond smaller ranges. The big question is however, are my stock 3.8 connecting rods strong enough to handle an 85 shot of nitrous or 10-11 psi of boost? I dont plan on ever taking the motor over 6500 RPMS, especially not until I can reprogram the computer to hit over 5800-6000. So with the forged Ross pistons and rings, is it really necessary to upgrade the rods too??

I don't get it...First you say you are gonna run forged pistons for a big shot of juice or lots of boost. But then you ask if you need the better rods for an 85 shot or 1-11psi??? That's not alot of juice or boost. If that's all you're gonna run, I wouldn't even spend that money on the pistons and connecting rods. When you install a bigger cam, and start pushing th revs higher up, I'd recomend replacing not only springs, but also the rods. They are cheap insurance.www.fullthrottlev6.com THE SOURCE!

Im just trying to stay in the "very safe" corner when I build it, and a mild cam is going in as well, wont be hitting above 6500 RPMS though. And yea I think an 85 shot is big enough for me to want some added peace of mind when doing the internals.C.
