Ok I am going to install the heads and cam next week. I was just wondering about the head gasket. Which head gasket should I use? Does anyone offer a thiner head gasket for that raised compression? Is it safe to use a thiner head gasket. Will raising compression this way give me any problems? I had the heads milled 20 thousandths I hope this is safe. Has anyone else done this with there heads? And my last question, do I have to replace head bolts?

ALWAYS get new bolts, cheap insurance. ARP bolts can be reused but the crap stock ones, no way.
you can raise your compression as much as you want, but you will have to deal with using higher octane gas. you haven't raised it enough to have a problem though. Just use the GM gaskets none other are offered as I understand it.
as for the intake not matching, its true, if you mill the heads too much hte angle on the lower intake wont seal, it has to be machined as well.
Im not sure if you will have this problem at only a 0.020 resurface.

I have talked to Tom @ supersix about this, he said with the milling only being 20 thousanths I shouldnt have any problems with the intake manifold. I spoke with him about things like this before he did my heads. He's a smart guy, I took his word for it. Hope he's right.
I was going to put them on over the weekend, looks like I will be starting the project tonight and all day tommarow instead.

no, you shouldn't use anything less than 89. That's what I use, but I'm not sure how much Tom milled off my heads. I didn't ask specifically for milling, he just did it so it could be completely flat surfaceGM 3800 PowerPak guinea pig<p>\"what cam, that\'s just a nasty mis-fire...\"
